Our History

Chris Hansen Construction Company, Inc., is a general construction firm, founded in 1918 by the man whose name it bears.  Chris Hansen started building homes with an old-fashioned Scandinavian pride in craftsmanship and was often heard to say, "If we can't build it right , we don't build it."  Chris' philosophy of craftsmanship exists as strongly today in the company that he founded as when Chris worked with the tools.

McHan Construction, Inc., a subsidiary company of Chris Hansen Construction Company, Inc., was formed in 1962.  McHan Construction, Inc. is a merit-shop general construction firm doing work in different geographical areas from Chris Hansen Construction Company, Inc.  For financial purposes, bonding and borrowing capacities, Chris Hansen Construction, Inc. and McHan Construction, Inc. are one.

Today Chris Hansen Construction Company, Inc., being a highly respected General Contractor, takes pride in its ability to construct projects on and ahead of schedule.  Because we are a traditional General Contractor and do most of the work with our own forces, we maintain control of the project progress.  Accurate scheduling and coordinating abilities permit us to complete projects on a timely basis.  Consequently, we have maintained an excellent working relationship with both owner, architects and subcontractors while constructing our projects.

Chris Hansen Construction Co., Inc. has a competent and adequate office staff, plus the necessary plant and equipment assets required.  The office staff experience vary from those who are graduate construction engineers to those who have worked their way up from field work to become part of the management team.  Our field staff has many men with fifteen to thirty years experience with our firm.

Speed of reaction as a project develops is a key to the success of our organization.  We have, in-house and on-line proven computerized systems for cost accounting and for project estimating.  These systems provide us with the "tools" to quickly and accurately respond to all informational needs of the project.
